Van And Monica Woods

Dear Precious Family & Friends,                                                                  April 1, 2011

 

          Grace, peace and mercy be multiplied to you from our Father & from our Lord Jesus. We PTL for you daily. We thank Him for your love, your prayers & your support. We love you & really appreciate all you do for us.

 

        In December we had daily vacation Bible school en 3 different churches with over 200 kids. Many of the kids got saved and are now going to church. Van was on a half hour TV program several times. He, Joel & Anders went to Mexico for 9 days in Dec.

      

       Gilberto & Rebeca Vasquez have been working with us since June. They especially help us with the widows ministry. We have had 3 different places where we minister to the widows weekly caring for about 70 widows. We have been doing this for over 17 years. We especially care for them spiritually & make sure their kids are going to school & have all they need like: school supplies, books, uniforms, shoes etc. Each month we give them a bag full of beans, rice, corn, oil, soap, sugar, dried vegetables, medicines & other things we get. It is a lot of work but the Lord gives us grace to do it!!!

      

     For about 2 and a half years we have been helping an orphanage with about 30 kids. We helped them find a house & move into it the end of November. We go there 3 times a week to have Sunday school, devotions, prayer, recreation & help in any way possible. There are a lot of ways to love & they especially need love. Lidia Stevens, from Pennsylvania came for 6 weeks to help us & has been helping the orphanage in many ways. She has been with Youth with a Mission & is a real blessing.   

    

     Van goes to 5 pastors meetings where there is love, respect, encouragement, unity & cooperation. “That is where God sends blessing & eternal life.” Sal.133 We have our Bible school & University connected to 2 of these pastors groups. Van teaches & supervises other teachers in these schools. We have several extentions including a few outside of the city. We have 11 teachers & reach hundreds of pastors. We have had about 4,000 ministers finish our basic courses that prepare the students to be official ministers recognized by the government. It’s great to see pastors working together reaching their cities, nation & other nations for Jesus. Van preaches 6 nights a week in different churches. He started a church in January in Satelite city which is growing.      

   

     We worked a little with the evangelist Richard Roberts who had a 3 day crusade here. Van took part in the pre-crusade activities & then took the orphan kids to the crusade. About 40,000 came forward in 3 crusades in Honduras & many 1,000’s responded here in Guatemala. We help churches win, care for, mature & multiply people for the Lord.

  

    In November a school teacher of Van’s who sent the funds to buy a van which has been a great blessing to transport the orphans to & from school & for recreation. Van uses it daily taking believers to seminars, special early prayer meetings, outings, retreats &  baptisms. We are so thankful for it & PTL daily. Pray for his safety & for wisdom.
