The position of Deacon played a very important role in the early Church by adding this office it caused growth within the Church.

Ac 6:7

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

This position when kept within it's proper place can be a tremendous asset to helping the work of God go forth at a great rate This office was never intended to rule but rather to partner with the ministry to insure the people were taking care of. This position requires a servants heart and a humble spirit. If you have the opportunity to be chosen for this office take the time to learn about it and then go and be a blessing to the ministry and the Church.
